The Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA) is seeking an experienced administrative assistant. This is a part-time position (30 hours per week) located at the National Office in Colorado Springs. This position is under the direction of the assistant vice president for Alliance Missions (AM) and is responsible for providing administrative support to area of ministry executives. In the performance of these duties, this position will support the overall mission of the C&MA as described below.


  • 1 – 2 years of college preferred, including in a specialized area such as accounting or secretarial skills


  • Has training or exposure to the job to develop efficiency or to obtain some background of helpful precedents and principles
  • 3 – 5 years of experience providing administrative support required
  • 2 – 4 years of experience in a related position within the C&MA preferred


  • Responds to emails sent to assistant vice president (AVP) asking for explanation and information that does not require AVP input
  • Coordinates, plans, and arranges travel itineraries for AVP for overseas and U.S. travel including air travel, hotel accommodations, ground transportation, visas, and passports
  • Keeps current calendar for the AVP and others in AM
  • Writes and inputs minutes for workers into the Minute Management System
  • Assists with follow-up member care for workers on home assignment, interacting with international workers (IWs) and member care providers to determine level of care and additional care that may be needed
  • Handles overseas travel arrangements for workers and their family traveling to and from overseas assignments
  • Receives, reads, and follows up on medical reports for workers who have not received medical clearance on home assignment; ensures that only workers with medical clearance are allowed to return to the field
  • Manages the health benefit incentive plan to determine when workers are eligible to receive the incentive; informs Alliance Benefits when the benefit should be distributed
  • Uses checklist when recording deaths of IWs; writes obituaries utilizing information from the files; writes letters on behalf of the vice president to be read at the funeral by the AM funeral representative; submits minutes, sends flowers
  • Processes accounts payable vouchers; processes Automated Clearing House requests
  • Participates in child safety training as member care specialist working with small groups and answering questions
  • Assists the Global Link Office in the planning of Home Assignment Ministry Seminar; works with International Placement Office in planning and implementing pre-field orientation
  • Assists in interfacing with the Member Care coordinator and IWs to facilitate the meeting of Member Care needs
  • Serves as interface between fields/teams/IWs and the National Office to help with problems, questions, and concerns related to various offices; sends workers’ files to districts when requested
  • Interfaces with the Alliance Benefits, Emergency Travel, Data Management, and Digital Media Offices related to issues of concern for fields/teams and individual workers
  • Takes files to Archives regarding field closures or anything of a historical nature
  • Issues credentials
  • Processes AM Benevolent Fund
