The Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA) is seeking an experienced HR Director.  This is a full-time position located at the National Office in Columbus, Ohio. This position is under the direction of Vice President/General Counsel, and is responsible for planning, leading, directing, developing, and coordinating the policies, activities, and staff of HR Services, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization’s mission and talent strategy. In the performance of these duties, this position will support the overall mission of the C&MA as described below.

Remote Requirement: The Christian and Missionary Alliance is currently located in Colorado Springs, CO, but is relocating to the Reynoldsburg area in 2021. This position may be required to work remotely until the physical office building in Reynoldsburg is ready for occupation, at which time this position will be required to be in office.

Requirements:

  • Four-year college degree in related field
  • Postgraduate degree in related field preferred
  • 7–9 years of experience in a related position

Responsibilities:

  • Supports management by providing HR advice and counsel
  • Organizes and leads bimonthly HR Team meetings including writing agenda, assembling related materials, and coordinating pre-meeting discussions with vice president/general counsel
  • Monitors and ensures the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Maintains knowledge of trends and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources
  • Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization’s human resource information system (HRIS) and other sources
  • Salary administration: responds to salary survey requests; performs salary studies and salary range updates when necessary; maintains the company wage and salary structure and oversees raises to ensure consistency within pay scales
  • Submits annual HRS budget and manages budget throughout fiscal year; administers HRS Pcard usage and monthly reconciliation
  • Maintains HRS documents, job descriptions, and forms as needed
  • Assists with revision and maintenance of policies and procedures for inclusion in the Employee Handbook
  • Manages recruiting process for open positions at the N.O. including recruiting posts and advertisements, distribution of applications to hiring office, background screens and reference checks, and employment offer letters
  • Manages onboarding processes from recruiting through orientation payroll setup, new hire orientation, welcome gifts, schedules N.O. tour, and welcomes new employee to N.O. culture
  • Manages conclusion process including conclusion schedules and exit interviews, and collection of company property; also manages involuntary conclusion process when necessary
  • Maintains personnel files and records through online payroll system; maintains personnel files both digitally and physically as applicable
  • Serves as Safety and Health co-coordinator, coordinates quarterly safety training program, and tracks training completions
  • In applicable years, manages the Best Christian Workplace Institute survey including preparation and promotion of survey; tracks participation and provides participation updates; following conclusion of survey window, schedules debrief meeting with President’s Cabinet
  • Coordinates the performance coaching process and monitors annual completions; provides supervisor and employee training related to performance coaching process
  • Manages FMLA request process and non-FMLA leave requests
  • Manages worker’s compensation injury claims; interacts with injured worker, medical provider, and insurance company; when necessary, conducts injury/accident investigations and coordinates return to work process; distributes workers’ compensation postings and notices to out-of-state workers
  • Handles OSHA records and annual posting
  • Handles EEOC annual submissions
  • Utilizes Yammer as internal communication tool and helps maintain HRS forms library; monitors Yammer posts as an administrator, guiding Yammer users and enforcing Yammer policies; manages HR Services and HR Team pages on Yammer
  • Conducts inquiries/investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth
  • Performs administrative duties by specific or general authorization from the general counsel and corporate and legal affairs manager
