This is a full-time, exempt position located at the National Office in Colorado Springs. This position is under the direction of director for the International Placement Office (IPO) and is responsible for processing candidates for international placement from the initial application through final appointment. In the performance of these duties, this position will support the overall mission of the C&MA as described below.


  • 1 – 2 years of college; related four-year college degree preferred
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in a related position with experience related to media, applications, and programs listed below
  • Prefer 2 – 4 years of experience within the C&MA


  • Responds to inquiries pertaining to long-term service with Alliance Missions (AM); provides information on candidate vetting process, requirements for International Worker-Clergy vs International Worker-Vocational, and coaching on next steps
  • Maintains records of AM candidates within software systems (Highrise, CMS, SurveyMonkey, etc.) and provides regular updates to IPO director on candidates
  • Updates and manages database of Alliance Licensed Ministry Experience candidates
  • Develops, plans, and edits monthly newsletter for AM candidates under the direction of the IPO director
  • Receives, screens, and analyzes the preliminary contact forms from applicants
  • Informs the director of the completion of level 1 interviews; if director approves the candidate to move forward, the coordinator informs candidate of next steps for part 2 of application and follows up with coaching phone call
  • Analyzes financial impact of costs of flights, lodging, etc., for interview; reviews and analyzes applications before interview and coordinates the provision for missing information; assists the director with scheduling and planning for interview; schedules interview with candidate; sends all interview participants the materials necessary for the interview process; approves and reimburses candidates for all related expenses
  • When necessary, interprets policy and presents plan to leadership concerning candidates
  • Coordinates information gathering, editing, and writing of the profile reports in preparation for consideration by the C&MA Board of Directors
  • Coordinates with the AM executive assistant and the Board administrative assistant concerning profiles and deadlines; makes decisions about when and how to complete these profiles in a timely manner
  • Following Board appointment, notifies all parties of the appointment including communication with the candidate, home church, and district
  • Analyzes field reports, accounting reports, and guides candidates through the process of raising support
  • Coordinates onboarding including explaining the process, coaching, collection of IRS forms, benefits forms, and last will and testament; verifies all forms for completion and accuracy
  • Assists director with Compass/Mission Prep/ICCT registration
  • Oversees logistical planning of Pre-Field Orientation, Compass, and Candidate Development Weekend; sets budget for submission to director, works with Events Office, makes independent decisions related to events; has final approval on travel arrangements, food, and lodging decisions for participants for these training weekends; approves reimbursements related to events
  • Coordinates Apprenticeship Program; analyzes field costs, prepares and sets up cost sheets, coordinates with field to set up apprentices, and coordinates payroll set up
  • Serves as liaison for medical assessments of candidates; interprets medical consultant’s reports, communicates results as needed to appropriate individuals, and drafts medical liability releases for leadership as needed
  • Serves as a liaison for personality assessment of candidates; instructs candidates on assessment process, prints assessment and reconciles bills with providers
  • Coordinates with AM and chief information officer to develop a management system for the flow of the IPO processes; utilizes a working knowledge of the system while integrating Excel and other software as needed
  • Maintains files and correspondence related to candidates, applicants, appointees, and other Alliance offices
  • Maintains and updates IPO coordinator manual
  • May be required to attend biennial General Council; assists with AM booth and helps IPO director
