What to Expect

The Internship Experience
We are here to help interns grow in knowledge and understanding of the graphic design industry and learn practical skills to prepare them for design careers. This is a great opportunity to learn from talented creatives in a professional environment. Interns will interact daily with a cohesive, fun-loving team of designers, video producers, writers, web and social media professionals, and funding staff that will provide a broad diversity of design styles and platforms. Interns will not only complete their school’s internship requirements but also gain advanced techniques to propel them to the next level of professional development.

Learning will include:

  • Design composition/aesthetics, print-buying, creative team collaboration, client interaction, and file preparation
  • Portfolio review by in-house design team
  • Visits to print vendors and design studios

Our design team works with a diverse group of internal clients. Interns will have the opportunity to serve alongside a wide variety of ministries with projects that could include:

  • Logo & branding development
  • Photo shoots & brainstorming sessions
  • Missions awareness campaigns
  • Alliance Life magazine design support
  • Web & video design support
  • Special design projects for the President’s communications
  • Church fundraising campaigns
  • Donor appeals and direct mail
  • Advertisements, posters, brochures, cards, and other promotional resources

Apply on ENVISION’s website. All applications are personally reviewed by the ENVISION team. Qualified candidates are then interviewed via video with the hiring manager. Every applicant receives a response from The Alliance, regardless of whether they are granted an internship.

Intern Training
Intern training takes place during the second week of June (Thursday-Sunday) in Colorado Springs. During the weekend, interns representing both domestic and international ENVISION sites gather together, where they receive teaching and interactive preparation on various topics, such as cultural intelligence, self-awareness, soul care, team unity, evangelism, and more. The Alliance design team will cover the costs associated with this training weekend.

Learn from our full-time Candidate Recruitment and Development staff, as they mentor interns both professionally and spiritually.

Housing & Transportation
Interns not residing in Colorado Springs—or having no local friends or family members to house them—can request assistance in securing temporary housing through ENVISION or the design team. Interns are responsible for their own transportation to and from Colorado Springs and throughout the duration of their internships. If unable to secure local transportation, the intern can also request assistance from ENVISION or the design team.

This is not a paid internship; but if accepted, the intern will receive a small living expense stipend, the amount of which will be based on the length of the internship. There are also several options available to interns who need additional income:

  • Raising support through ENVISION
  • Working a part-time job or freelance opportunities during their internship*

College Credit
We strive to provide interns with valuable learning experiences, and we will work with their educational institution to fulfill any needed credit requirements.
