Toccoa Falls College, a Christian liberal arts college in northeast Georgia, seeks a Dean of the School of Nursing for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program. The successful candidate assumes authority and responsibility for the administration, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing education program. This position begins August 1, 2020 and reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative leadership in the continued development, implementation, and daily operation of the BSN program consistent with the College’s vision and mission
  • Articulate a leadership vision and strategic plan for evaluating the nursing program and curriculum within the framework of the overall plan of the campus, as required by the Georgia Board of Nursing and other accrediting agencies
  • Develop and implement academic and clinical policies and procedures for the School of Nursing
  • Evaluate program structure that ensures achievement of program, teaching/learning (including the integration of simulation and other enhanced learning technologies and assessment methodologies), and service outcomes
  • Engage and maintain relationships with administrative authorities and other academic and practice settings for program planning, implementation, and evaluation via Nurse Advisory Council
  • Partner with facilities and clinical programs to facilitate agreements for learning opportunities that align with program outcomes
  • Maintain national and state accreditation for the program to ensure compliance with accreditation standards
  • Serve as the College’s liaison with the Board of Nursing providing program data and reports to the Executive Director of the Board of Nursing
  • Direct fiscal and personnel management providing ongoing faculty/staff mentorship and advisement
  • Provide administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facility management
  • Assess effectiveness of nursing student admissions process, engage in academic advisement and recruitment efforts, and coordinate students’ programmatic records

Experience and Education:

  • Master of Science degree in Nursing required and doctoral preparation (i.e., Ph.D., Ed.D., or DNP) preferred, from an accredited institution
  • Current (or eligibility for) licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Georgia
  • Demonstrated effective academic and administrative leadership experiences in higher education with a minimum of five years in nursing academia
  • Spiritually mature Christian who affirms the college’s mission and statement of faith, and promotes an environment of Christian ministry within the School of Nursing, campus, and community

The baccalaureate degree program in nursing at Toccoa Falls College is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The CCNE evaluation team found the School in full compliance with all of the CCNE Standards.
