CAMA is heading up The Alliance’s national relief effort to assist hurricane victims. Several Alliance churches were affected in New Orleans. One is The Alliance Bible Fellowship in New Orleans, which is pastored by William Neudahl. The church is located in a parish that has been flooded. Fortunately, word came this afternoon (9/1) that Pastor Neudahl and his wife, dawn, are with family members in Baton Rouge. Also, a Vietnamese Alliance church was affected by the hurricane. The pastor, Ngoc Tran, went to be with relatives in Houston.
CAMA, working through Alliance churches and the Southern and Southwestern district offices, will distribute funds as needs arise. Part of the relief will go toward an effort to feed people who are being transferred from the Superdome to the Houston Astrodome.
Churches and other groups who desire to put together work teams are urged to wait until the Southern District has assessed the situation and can effectively place the teams where they are most-needed. That may take several weeks or months. Look for information on this in future Web site updates.
The Canadian C&MA has expressed their concern and prayers for the people affected by the hurricane. They have promised funds and work teams to assist in the rebuilding efforts.
Thank you for your prayers and support for those who have experienced a devastating blow to their lives and ministries.
