Former Missionary to Vietnam and Indonesia Passes Away

Mildred (Millie) R. Ade went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 23, 2005, in Lakeland, Florida. She was 84 years old. Ade served as a missionary with The Alliance from 1950 to 1990. 
     After completing studies at St. Paul Bible College and working for the War Department during World War 2, Ade went on to earn an R.N. degree and to study Greek at Wheaton College. When she completed language study, she was assigned to to assist the at the Banmethout Leprosarium in supervising the out-patient program. 
     When coworkers were captured at the Leprosarium by the Viet Cong in 1962, Ade helped with leadership at the clinic. After the closing the Vietnam field, she was reassigned to Indonesia, where she taught at the Makale Theological School and ministered among the Toraja tribe of the South Sulawesi until retirement. 
     A memorial service was held on Wednesday, January 4, at the First Alliance Church in Lakeland.
