Thrity-three church-planting directors, church health directors, and National Office church multiplication staff attended the Church Multiplication Advance in Denver, Colorado, April 11–12. Dr. Mickey Noel, assistant executive director for Church Multiplication, presented a progress report of Alliance church-planting efforts in the United States:
• From 1996 to 2005, 533 new C&MA churches were launched
• in 2005, 68 new churches were added to the C&MA community
• For the first time in C&MA history (in 2005), there were more than 2,000 Alliance congregations
• In 2005, there were the most new church launches of any year in more than a decade
During this event, Noel, who is leaving his position, handed off a symbolic “Mulitplication Baton” to Rev. Bill Malick, the new director for Church Multiplication.
