It is with heavy hearts that we write to tell you that a 21 year old son of one of our families, was shot and killed Thursday evening. The parents of this young man were the first people to begin attending Bible Study in the home of our church planter here in inner city LA. Another of their sons was shot and killed just last December.
Please pray for this family. Losing two young men to violence within the span of one year is, as you can imagine, incredibly devastating. Pray for his extended family and as well as his girlfriend…many of his cousins, aunts and others attend Bible Study.
Please pray for the team as we minister to the family and walk with them in their grief. This young man attended the Sunday Bible Study regularly, and we are grieving as well. Please pray for the funeral preparations, and for the funeral and burial services.
Pray that Christ’s light will penetrate the darkness in remarkable ways these next days. Pray that hearts will be softened and God will draw people to Himself through this incredible tragedy.
Please pray for strength for the team as we minister this weekend. We have an outreach event planned for Saturday and Bible study/clubs on Sunday. And of course, we want to continue to closely minister to the family through these next days. Please pray that all we do and say will glorify our incredible Lord and that we will be His hands and feet here in Los Angeles this weekend.
