Western Pennsylvania’s number two team won first place in the C&MA’s 2007 International Bible Quizzing Finals held at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois.
Losing its first few quizzes, the team got off to a rocky start, but moved quickly from ninth place to the top spot in the championship round robin. Close on its heels was Canadian Midwest 1, which finished in second place; Canadian Midwest 2 finished third.
A part of Life Impact Ministries, Bible quizzing offers Alliance youth an opportunity to do systematic study and apply God’s Word. Along with the daily quizzing schedule, quizzers participated in a time of worship, led by the junior high worship team from Blanchard Alliance Church in Wheaton.
Recreational activities including basketball, volley ball, swimming; rounding out the week were trips to the Great America Amusement Park. Pastor Todd Williams, devotional speaker for the week, challenged the students to take what they had memorized and make it part of their daily lives.
