Financial Gifts Make Church Plants Possible

By Lee Towns
Lead Pastor and Architect of Church at the Triangle

Church plants often represent the shifting body within the community of faith.

When my wife, Carla, and I were praying through beginning the Church at the Triangle, our hearts burned with a passion to see a church formed that would lead people to discover God; one in which they could grow to experience Him in every part of their lives.

We knew that if we were going to truly accomplish this goal, we needed to be able to reach those outside the church community of faith.

Our greatest challenge was how to financially support our family. Beginning a church with school-aged children requires some financial stability. We faced either a bivocational strategy or an aggressive support strategy.

Through the generosity of the C&MA people, however, we were able to receive grants and funding [ from The Alliance Great Commission Fund (GCF)] that have made it possible for me to focus full-time on the work of launching a church. In October [2007] we will begin meeting with our growing congregation in small groups.

Throughout the holidays we will launch our public previews. Next spring the Church at the Triangle will begin meeting as a community of faith, made up of people who previously were not connected to Christ through the Church.

None of this would have been possible if not for the gifts that our start-up  project received through the South Atlantic District and The Christian and Missionary Alliance.  Thank you for your generous support of reaching every man, woman, and child with the gospel message.
