A building that once sold items used for Buddhist worship will be the site of an Alliance church in Japan.
Kawaguchi Christ Church members had been praying for a larger meeting place, and God provided one just a two-minute walk from its current location. In addition, the realtor was willing to come down $50,000 on the asking price. “People said they never heard of this happening before!” said Alliance missionaries Don and Hazel Schaeffer.
The Schaeffers also have been encouraged by how people are giving. Aready, some have expressed interest in helping with renovations.
“Our desire is to reach our community for Christ,” Don and Hazel said. “In a country where shrines and temples are visible everywhere, we want Kawaguchi Christ Church to stand out for Jesus!”
