Team Joshua, an Alliance youth outreach in Indonesia, met with provincial government representatives to discuss the AIDS crisis in that country.
“They are excited that youth want to be involved in the prevention of AIDS,” said Alliance worker Barry Jordan, who ministers with Team Joshua, one of many C&MA outreaches that address the AIDS epidemic. The government invited the group to be part of a training seminar for AIDS counselors. “Pray for Team Joshua’s AIDS outreach program,” Jordan said.
The team’s strategy includes AIDS awareness seminars, rallies, and concerts; a brochure with a hotline number that is being distributed at popular youth gathering places; and training in AIDS counseling for volunteers. Recently, Jordan led a seminar on salvation and new life at a secular university, by invitation from the Christian fellowship group there.
“I was grateful for a few good questions that [enabled me] to share about God’s grace,” said Jordan. “Thank the Lord for this awesome opportunity.”
