MKs From Two Continents Reach Senegal for Christ

A recent outreach by Dakar Academy students in Senegal and students from Evangelical Christian Academy in Madrid, Spain, along with 10 national pastors, resulted in more than 4000 people receiving practical demonstrations of Christ’s love as well as hearing the message of salvation.
Divided into teams, the groups accomplished above and beyond what they expected. Students and adults alike participated in multiple projects, including roofing, pouring a foundation for a church, digging a septic system, and building benches. Drama and Vacation Bible School teams ministered to more than 2,000 combined.
“Trying to transport, feed, lodge, and coordinate 140 people for a weekend in the bush can be quite an undertaking,” says Evan Evans, Alliance chaplain and dorm administrator who coordinated the evangelistic effort. “We praise God for the way the logistics fell into place.”
The medical team treated 157 people, “a new medical outreach record,” says Evans. “Dan Mulay, our assistant director who is an EMT (emergency medical technician) provided training and first-aid certification for our students, who did most of the treatments.” Two missionary nurses also assisted with the triage.
Nearly 200 people who attended evening evangelism campaigns prayed for salvation, and the national church president closed the event with a special request. “He asked our staff and students to surround the local believers and pray for them,” says Evans. “Pray that they will be faithful in sharing the gospel with neighbors and building God’s Kingdom in that area.”
