Alliance Ministers in Government Homeless Shelter

Valentine's Day OutreachApproximately 90 people came to an Alliance Valentine’s Day outreach at a government-run homeless shelter in Thailand. All in attendance indicated that they were interested in the gospel. “We have received government permission [to minister there], but the official letter has not reached the home yet,” said Alliance missionary Debbie Vik. “Until then, we are not able to do regular ministry but are allowed to come for special events.”

The Valentine’s celebration featured games, songs, and testimonies. A message also was given. “At the end, people had opportunity to respond by writing on a heart what they would like to receive from the Lord,” said Vik. “Many of them said they wanted to know Jesus.” Vik and her co-laborers desire to minister to these people on an ongoing basis and give them hope for their lives. “We want to them not only to accept the Lord but eventually be willing to find jobs and homes and make a positive contribution to their communities as much as they are able to,” she said. Pray for follow-up of those who attended this outreach.
