COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The CAMA (Compassion and Mercy Associates) Board of Directors is pleased to announce that the appointment of Rev. Michael (Mike) A. Sohm as the new president of CAMA was approved by the Executive Committee of the C&MA Board of Directors. Rev. Sohm will assume this role on July 1, 2013.
In April 2012, Dr. Philip (Phil) Skellie, CAMA’s current president, tendered his resignation to the CAMA Board of Directors effective June 30, 2013. He has accepted the role of International-Worker-in-Residence at Simpson University in Redding, California, and will start July 1, 2013. The Alliance and CAMA wish to express their deepest appreciation for Dr. Skellie’s exceptional leadership and service to CAMA for more than 14 years.
Rev. Sohm comes well qualified with an intimate knowledge of The Alliance and CAMA, extensive experience in Alliance national and international leadership positions, and an unwavering passion to see Christ’s purposes fulfilled throughout the world. He has served as C&MA field director for Thailand, regional director for Asia/Pacific Islands, and assistant vice president for International Ministries. He has been an active member of CAMA’s Board of Directors for more than five years, serving as its chair for two.
In 2006 Rev. Sohm began a new ministry as the executive vice president of Operations and Human Resources at Crown College in St. Bonifacius, Minnesota. After five years in this role, he transitioned to vice president of Student Development, serving for two years.
