Kids’ Camp in Senegal

By an Alliance worker, serving in Saint-Louis, Senegal

Saint-Louis (san-loo-EE), in northwestern Senegal, is a dense population center for a least-reached people group. Few in the group, which forms an ethnic plurality (40-plus percent) in this West African nation, are Jesus followers. Youth camps are a strategic means to change these stats, as described in this adapted excerpt from a recent update.

Our summer camp for the children of a least-reached population here is one of the highlights of our ministry each year. We have the opportunity to pour ourselves into the lives of about 70 children who have few opportunities to hear the good news.

This year (August 13–18) the campers will learn  how God worked through the life of Samson. During the evenings they’ll hear an evangelistic teaching—our theme is “The Good News.”

Short-Term Team Partnerships

We are blessed that church teams from the United States and Canada are joining us, along with Nathan Bramsen, who grew up in Saint-Louis. With their help, the children will have opportunities to do arts and crafts, play games and sports, and enjoy the waterfront campground.

Thank you for your partnership through prayer in spreading the good news. God is answering and His kingdom is advancing!

Every year we are amazed at the testimonies of how God uses this camp to touch the hearts of these children! We believe this year will be no different.

What You Can Do

Pray

  • For all the details involved in preparing for and running the camp; Against any barriers to all of the children attending; For open hearts to the gospel and that many of these precious children will become Jesus followers; That the rain would hold off since this is an outdoor camp; and For strength and wisdom for those leading and serving the campers.
  • Using our weekly Alliance Prayer Requests, join other Alliance family members to intercede for Alliance workers around the world who are engaged in innovative outreaches that include youth camps.
