Hundreds Baptized in Ohio

Based on a report from Jonathan Schaeffer

During the first nine months of 2013, members of Grace Church had the joy of seeing 250 people declare their allegiance to Christ in baptism.

“God is transforming lives, renewing marriages, breaking the chains of addiction, and growing His family!” reports Rev. Dr. Jonathan Schaeffer, lead pastor of Grace Church (Cleveland, Ohio) and corporate vice president of The Alliance.

Surrendered Lives

“I just felt like ‘something’ was missing. My entire identity had been wrapped up in my career and my quest for independence,” one person said. “I began leaning into my faith and started coming to a class called Soul Care.

“I have now surrendered my life to the Lord.”

A former nun testified: “At the age of 65, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and my life began to change. I started taking Bible classes, and a peace I never experienced was growing in me. The loneliness was gone, and I had a purpose.”

Public Faith

Another’s father, a policeman, used alcohol to deal with the challenges of his personal and professional life. “My days were filled with messages of love, but my nights were filled with alcoholism, turmoil, and rage. . . . I read the story of Lazarus. Jesus’ love for Lazarus and his family touched my heart. I became overwhelmed with an unexplainable peace. I believed!”

“Heaven rejoices as these three join hundreds of others who are going public with their decision to follow Christ,” says Jonathan.
