The Stolen Violin

By an Alliance staff member in Europe/Middle East

At a recent birthday celebration for a local seeker, a violin was stolen from member of the church’s worship team. The violin was of great monetary value but was also a blessing to the congregations. We began to pray earnestly for its recovery.

While hanging pictures of the missing violin on street poles, the violin’s owner and her husband understood how much more earnestly Jesus seeks for one lost soul. A deep love stirred in their hearts for the people of that neighborhood.

The husband had his guitar with him, so the couple began to sing praises to the Lord on the street.

As a crowd gathered, a young man stepped up and whispered, “The person who took the violin wants to give it back.”

After some negotiations, the violin was returned. We praise God for answered prayer and continue in weekly celebrations of worship, enjoying this gift in the hands of a talented musician.
