“Jesus has been knocking at the door of my heart for 50 years,” said Preecha, who was baptized on Easter Sunday 2014 at the Mahapawn Living Water Church in Thailand.
Preecha, 67, met Alliance international worker Sue Danneker while Sue was visiting Ann, a new believer, at her noodle shop the week before her baptism. Preecha was Ann’s fifth-grade English teacher more than 30 years ago.
Ann told Preecha that she is now a Christian. Sue invited him to Ann’s baptism, and he eagerly agreed to attend. He also came to the morning English Bible study and the afternoon worship service.
There were tears in Preecha’s eyes as he watched Anne’s baptism. “I want to be baptized next,” he told Sue, who said he needed to be a Christian first. Sue’s husband, Ed, arranged to visit Preecha that week to explain the gospel in depth.
When Ed arrived, Preecha was ready to accept Jesus as his Savior. He has come faithfully to church and has been attending discipleship studies with Ed.
After his baptism, Preecha said, “I had met other Christians along the way. I even attended a Bible study led by a missionary [from another missions agency] about 15 years ago. But there were too many obstacles to becoming a Christian at that time.
“Then in February, I decided I wanted to find that missionary and ask him more questions about God. But I met Sue first.”
“Praise God for how He is moving!” said the Dannekers.
