All you have made will praise you, O LORD; your saints will extol you. They will tell of the glory of your kingdom and speak of your might, so that all men may know of your mighty acts and the glorious splendor of your kingdom. . . . an everlasting kingdom (Psalm 145:10–13a).
Praise God for His eternal Kingdom! We who know His steadfast love held tight to this enduring truth as 2014’s world headlines—civil war, brutal acts of violence, rampant disease—brought us together in prayer.
In the midst of the chaos, God performed mighty acts we were privileged to document. Because of faithful Alliance family members like you—devoted to prayer and generous giving to the Great Commission Fund—we can share this sampling of 2014’s great-news headlines, which are all about Him. Stay tuned for more in 2015
Ebola in Mali
God has answered prayer in wonderful ways with regard to Ebola. There were eight Ebola cases in Mali in October and November (seven of which were confirmed); six died, and two were healed and discharged from treatment centers earlier this month. In November, when Ebola reached the capital city, we began screening patients at the hospital and will continue until Mali is declared Ebola free. This should happen January 18 if there are no new cases. Read more about The Alliance response to Ebola
Hundreds Accept Christ in Senegal
“More than 6,000 people heard the good news in and around the large bush village of Diohine, Senegal,” Alliance staff at Dakar Academy reported last January. “So many people responded to the invitation to accept Jesus that we could not count them! . . . We now understand why there was so much opposition from the enemy related to this outreach.” Learn more about the revival in Senegal.
Unprecedented Openness in Japan
Japan has a reputation for being one of the most difficult countries to reach with the gospel. Recent reports indicate the hard spiritual soil in one area is beginning to soften. “The people in this region of Japan, particularly in Ishinomaki, are the most open and receptive that we have encountered during our 36 years here,” wrote Alliance international workers Ken and Kathy Young in June. The Youngs minister with Alan and Jill Kropp, team leaders at the New Life Center, an outreach to those affected by the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami. Read how tragedy has led to triumph.

Tell Me a Story
Most unreached people today live in oral cultures. Fueled by a passion to take the good news to the least-reached, The Alliance is partnering with other missions organizations experienced in reaching oral learners through a story-based approach. “Stories transcend age, gender, ethnicity, political affiliation—even religion. They enable us to look past our differences and celebrate what unites us,” a creative-access worker reported in the March 1, 2014, issue of Alliance Life. Get the details of this new movement among the unreached.
A New Sister and Other Good News
An Alliance team in a European city has initiated house churches to meet the holistic needs of migrants from one of the last missions frontiers. One man’s story of leading his sister to Christ exemplifies the team’s vision for this ministry—“north and central Asians empowered by the Holy Spirit and trained to take the Kingdom of God to their homelands.” Read how God is moving in unconventional ways.
Breaking Strongholds
When international workers in Burkina Faso began traveling to the remote Kenedougou region to plant churches, there were few Jesus followers; today, there are more than 40 communities of believers.
Watch Alliance workers and several national believers tell how Jesus is releasing those entrapped by fetishes and idols, how the sick are receiving healing, and how new believers are spreading the gospel among their own people.
