January 16, 2015
Since our Thanksgiving 2014 outreach in Foundiougne, we continue to hear positive reports of what God is doing in the community. The church for which we laid the foundation is nearly completed—more than 280 attended the Christmas service! Previously, Sunday services averaged about 30 attendees.
This weekend, January 16–18, more than 120 Dakar Academy students and staff members are headed to Ndiop, a hub for 26 villages in the Diourbel region here in Senegal, where there has been some openness to the gospel. We feel it’s essential for us to build a church in Ndiop that will in turn reach these surrounding villages.
U.S. Church Onboard
A short-term team from a congregation in Alabama, which has raised funds to build the Ndiop church, is assisting with this weekend’s outreach. Our goals are to:
- Renovate classrooms at a local school and paint classroom murals
- Dig a well (this will be challenging, since we will need to go down more than 80 feet)
- Lay a foundation for the new church and make bricks to construct the church’s walls
- Minister in at least 10 villages through our drama and Kids’ Club teams
After the outreach, the Cotton State team will stay an extra week in Dakar to minister to our elementary students during their Spiritual Emphasis Week.
Please pray for
- The Alabama team members’ good health and for supernatural energy as they adjust to life in Africa and minister to our students
- Safety in our travels and on the work sites
- The logistics required to set up camp, including feeding and transporting more than 120 participants during this three-day evangelistic event
Stay tuned to hear how God answers your prayers!

Pray
Use the weekly Alliance Prayer Requests to join the Alliance family in praying for our teams in Africa and worldwide, who serve in often challenging circumstances that require Holy Spirit–inspired perseverance, wisdom, and creativity in demonstrating God’s love to those who don’t know Him.
