New Life in the New Year

Believers in the Ibele Valley in West Papua, Indonesia, rang in the New Year with special celebrations and the baptism of 31 new believers. Many had made decisions for Jesus because of a film ministry that Alliance national church members conducted in their villages.

According to Barry and Patty Jordan, an Alliance international worker couple involved with the baptism, some of the villagers wept at the dedication and sacrifice they saw in the team’s willingness to carry a generator up and down the mountains so the film could be shown. “Don’t cry for us,” said Stepanus, a national colleague. “Think of the sacrifice of Jesus, who carried His cross for us, which was a much heavier burden than this generator.”

Pray that the new believers will grow in their faith and be powerful witnesses of Christ’s love.
