Update
Thanks to all who prayed for Emmanuel Flores, the son of the board member of an Alliance church in Puerto Montt, who went missing near the Calbuco volcano last week. “He was found safe and sound,” reported David Woerner, Alliance field leader for Chile. “Emmanuel said that he and his companions prayed incessantly, and the Lord was merciful to them.” Rejoice for this answer to prayer!
Please Pray
As the Calbuco volcano in Chile continues to spew ash, the national church issued an urgent prayer request for the son of a board member from an Alliance church in Puerto Montt, relatively close to the volcano.
“Emmanuel Flores was hiking with two others near the volcano at the time of the [first] eruption. Nothing has been heard from them yet, and many are searching for them,” reported David Woerner, Alliance field director for Chile.
The volcano, dormant for 42 years, erupted twice this week, forcing about 4,000 residents in nearby towns to evacuate as ash blanketed their neighborhoods. Chile’s national geology and mining service warned people to prepare for a possible third and “even more aggressive eruption.”
Please pray for the safe return of Emmanuel and his companions, peace for his family, and protection of those living in the area.
