“This is the biggest leap forward we’ve seen firsthand,” an Alliance worker in the Middle East wrote in a recent update. He’s referring to a Bible study group’s recent growth from 2 to 11.
The way it all started was when a student at the city’s university, Aaron*, came to the local community center to register for English as a Second Language (ESL) classes. Knowing the center offered quality English training for an extremely low price, he was shocked to receive a student discount.
That price cut caused Aaron to search YouTube for information about Christianity, having assumed the community center staff members are Christians.
Later, Heath*, a man from another Bible study group, invited Aaron to the center’s Christmas party. Aaron saw a cross around Heath’s neck and asked his story. Soon Aaron said he too wanted to dedicate his life to Christ.
The next day, Aaron brought a friend to the center and the next day, another. The next week he brought two more, and as of December, there are 11 folks beginning to study the Bible with Heath.
Alliance workers ask we pray for Heath to be filled with wisdom and love, and for these 11 to understand and to experience the unmistakable draw toward Jesus (John 6:44).
