Spanish Central District superintendent Hector Belen writes,
Yesterday the Spanish Central District arrived in Houston to bring supplies to the Iglesia Vida Alianza. An 18 wheeler hauling a 40′ trailer pulled out yesterday morning from Rio Life Church in Mercedes, Texas, filled with food, water, clothing and other essentials. Once there, we were graciously received by a number of church members along with their pastor Herman Sanchez.
As was reported on August 29, six members of Rio Life had made the 350-mile trek north to Houston with 3 boats to help in the relief and rescue effort. At that time, the Spanish Central District began mobilizing its churches to gather non-perishable food items over the weekend to truck to Iglesia Alianza Vida, located in an area hard hit by Harvey. The church has been caring for a number of families in the community who had been devastated by the flooding; so the arrival of yesterday’s semi was a welcome sight.
