More than 6,000 people are believed to have attended a major outreach event with Nick Vujicic—a popular evangelist who was born without limbs—in Bosnia-Herzegovina’s three largest cities; another 7,000 watched via livestream on YouTube. Alliance aXcess* and Envision workers partnered in this initiative, which was without question the largest evangelistic event in the history of the evangelical church in Bosnia-Herzegovina. The final event was broadcast live on television, so it is unknown how many of Bosnia-Herzegovina’s 3.9 million citizens heard the good news during this 36-hour period.
A Clear Gospel Message
The week after this event, several TV stations aired interviews with Nick; newspapers and web media also released stories about the outreach—along with a clear gospel message. These events testify to God’s great faithfulness, since fewer than 1,000 Bible-believing Christians live in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
These outreaches took one year to plan, with hundreds if not thousands around the globe covering them in prayer. During a Sunday service, a local pastor shared that as the church members were in the prayer room interceding during the event, the Lord told him that our city and Bosnia-Herzegovina would never be the same after this night.
Revival!
One of our aXcess workers said after the outreach, “I felt something shift last night—and in the days leading up to these events. The week before the outreach as we prayed for this endeavor, I heard the Lord say, ‘Soon Bosnia-Herzegovina will be in the news again—not because of war but because of what I am about to do.’ Our center distributed 16 tickets to our clients and community contacts. Three other people I know approached me after the event and thanked us for being one of the organizers. This initiative has started so many new conversations about faith.”
In one city where Alliance aXcess and Envision workers assisted with the outreach, 132 people asked for follow-up after the event. Last week, a college student who had done so attended church for the first time ever. He was also invited to the young adult Bible study led by our Envision intern and several Bosnian young adult believers. This young man is regularly spending time with interns from an Alliance partner ministry that works with college students.
Pray that the Lord will continue to reveal the truth to him and that many more Bosnians will begin to seek out Christ followers in the coming weeks and months.
As a result of this outreach, the local evangelical church, which has been stagnant and prone to division, has reunited and shaken off the spirit of apathy. His Kingdom is being built! Strongholds are tumbling down! Revival is coming! Praise the Lord!
