Ministry has not stopped here with the spread of COVID-19. To adapt to this new situation, I started an online daytime Bible study to reach people at home due to lockdown. We are studying the names of God (Elohim, El Roi, El Shaddai, etc.). It’s been a good reminder to those of us participating that we can trust the Lord because of who He is.
Nonbelievers Taste Christ’s Compassion
Just before the virus began spreading to this country, we had formed a team to launch a new church plant in a town with no known believers. I’m grateful we were able to get a solid start. When the first cases of of the virus were confirmed in this location—the first in the country—many people were unable to access food and supplies due to the strict quarantine. Our team was able to distribute food packages that included Scripture-based literature to 330 families in need.

We conducted this outreach in partnership with local government officials, building a connection with them. This is the first contact that most of these people have had with evangelical Christians. And it’s our prayer that the community will know we care about them in their time of need.
Even though we could not interact face-to-face with every family served, we pray that the Lord will use the literature in the food packages to create a hunger for Him. Once this situation is over, we plan to return and share the gospel freely with them.
None of this would have been possible without your financial gifts to the Great Commission Fund to keep your international workers here on the ground!
