Severe clashes between the military and pro-democracy protesters in Myanmar (Burma) have escalated significantly over the past two weeks. News sources are reporting that approximately 100 people—including unarmed civilians and children—have been killed this past Saturday alone as the military continues to suppress opposition to the February 1 coup.
Our Alliance partners in Myanmar are in great danger. The city where the partner lead office is located remains in the crossfire, as do nearby villages where local fellowships have been conducting outreaches to their communities. Several have been killed in these areas.
Please pray for the safety and protection of our Alliance fellowships and other Alliance work taking place in Myanmar. Pray that the violence will cease and that these fellowships will be able to safely resume their outreach activities to their devastated communities during this time of upheaval and uncertainty.
