For almost three years, my country has faced multiple terrorist attacks that have displaced nearly 1.2 million people. After the first attacks, many people took refuge in Pastor J’s church. He estimates that 192 displaced people were housed in the church, receiving food, clothing, and needed supplies. Some time later, in another location, terrorists entered one morning and attacked Pastor T’s village and one nearby. Many of the people fled to Pastor J’s village, where the church was already set up to provide food and clothing to displaced families.
When the situation calmed down, some villagers decided to return home. They visited Pastor T right away, asking not only for food but also to be taught the Word of God. It was the Christians who accepted them, housed them, and fed them. That is why, once back home, they decided to go to the church to praise God.
Pastor T told us that 63 people in his village gave their lives to the Lord. And they have seen 126 accept Christ in the village nearby!
I would like to point out that there are more than 800 displaced people in these two villages who still need the gospel. And Pastor T continues his ministry among them daily. Our plan is to continue supporting these displaced people with food and supplies, as well as assisting with their rehabilitation through farming and microcredit loans.
Thanks to all of you who support the ministry among displaced families through your prayers and donations. To our God be the glory!
Through local Alliance churches, ACCEDES has distributed thousands of tons of food, clothing, mats, and blankets. CAMA has partnered in this fast-growing crisis by providing $120,000 toward relief. Yet the terrorist attacks continue. Today more than 1 million people are still displaced, and the vast majority do not know the hope of Jesus.
