SVAC is seeking a full-time English Pastor to lead the English Ministry towards a clearly established vision. The potential candidate must be prepared to develop, guide, and direct the overall English Ministry by working closely with SVAC staff, particularly the Senior Pastor, the English NEXT Ministry Pastor, the English Youth Pastor, the church board, the English Ministry Team (EMT), and other volunteers with the main purposes of developing people into spiritually mature and Christ-centered believers and taking the gospel to the surrounding community. Responsibilities/Duties: • Partner with church staff and proactively encourage, guide, and mentor others through spiritual activities such as prayer, worship, personal discipleship, leading Bible studies, and preparing and teaching the Sunday School curriculum. • Promote a culture of evangelism by cultivating a heart for the spiritually lost in the believing church members and mobilizing them for outreach by employing creative techniques to share the gospel in a manner which will communicate the truth and relevance of the Bible to the local community. • Create opportunities and encourage church members to participate in short-term mission trips. • Help prepare church members who are called to full-time ministry for a career in ministry. • Counsel those seeking advice regarding life decisions and spiritual matters. • Regularly contact and visit newcomers, church members, and those who are ailing and in need. • Lead, direct, oversee, and preach in the Sunday English worship service. • Identify, recruit, train, and support church leaders and volunteers. • Work closely with church volunteers to plan and coordinate events, such as short-term mission trips, community service activities, community outreaches, training seminars, and prayer meetings. • Effectively plan, organize, and direct an English Ministry made up of people of varying ages, backgrounds, and levels of spiritual maturity in a multi-lingual/-cultural/-ethnic church environment. • Provide administrative oversight of the English Ministry. • Report directly to the Senior Pastor and provide ministry status reports to the church board. Qualifications: • Professes Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, while exuding a close walk with God, which gives evidence of a Spirit-filled life and serves as a model for the church. • Clear calling for full-time ministry. • Minimum of an undergraduate college degree from an ccredited.four-year college or university. Master of Divinity or equivalent graduate theological degree from an accredited Christian seminary or school is preferred. • Previous experience as an English Pastor is required. Experience leading worship/worship teams is preferred. • Exceptional ability to understand, communicate, and build relationships with people that will encourage, motivate, and support both believing and non-believing people towards a deeper relationship with Christ.
