Immanuel Church is located in a growing suburban community near Harrisburg, PA, which has a metro area population of 500,000 people. We are located only 10 minutes from Messiah College, a short drive from mountains, and within only a few hours of several major cities on the East Coast. Our church has a strong desire to invest in our next generation of youth as part of our mission to bring Christ to our community. We are seeking to expand our ministry staff to include a full-time student ministries pastor who will lead and further develop our ministry to high school and middle school students. The staff at Immanuel is a team that works together, prays together, has fun together, and supports each other. Desired qualifications: -Follows, serves, and loves Jesus as a first call -Lives a life of prayer, character, humility, and dependence on God -Demonstrates a calling to youth ministry, including prior involvement and experience in youth ministry -Has ablity to relate to youth well -Is a self-starter and initiator -Has good communication skills -Meets the requirements in order to be licensed and ordained in the C&MA Responsibilities: -Design, oversee, and effectively communicate a long range planning of activities and curriculum. -Recruit, train, and oversee a team of adult leaders & student leaders. Hold regular leadership meetings. -Intentionally partner with and equip parents. Hold regular parent meetings. -Administrate the annual budget for student ministry and coordinate fundraising efforts. -Develop student ministry presence on the website and social media. -Build bridges into the lives of the students outside of church and in the local schools. -Plan opportunities for students to participate in camps, retreats, missions trips, and the LIFE conference. -Network with other youth pastors in the Mechanicsburg area, EPA District, and the C&MA. -Oversee another major area of ministry at Immanuel Church according to need in the church or gifting (ie. Missions, outreach, college, etc). -Participate in the overall life and ministry of the Church including attendance and participation in public services. -Be a full team participant in VBS each year. -Preach on occasion as agreed upon with the Lead Pastor. -Attend Governing Board and Elders meetings as a non-voting member. -Attend weekly staff meetings. -Connect with and care for the larger church body as assigned by the Lead Pastor. We prefer experience in youth ministry but are willing to train someone who has the right maturity and gifting.
