Our mission is to multiply disciples and churches! Imagine a church that isn’t about a place with programs, but a people with a purpose. Imagine a church that reflects the full beauty and heart of our region. We believe Jesus is doing a new work in Southwest Iowa and we are committed to being a city on a hill and a light to our region. Citylight Southwest Iowa is a part of a church planting movement. We are a part a family of Citylight churches. Citylight Southwest Iowa was planted by Citylight Council Bluffs, and Citylight Council Bluffs was planted by Citylight Omaha about two years ago. Citylight Southwest Iowa is unique because it is a rural church plant. While our church building is in a town of about 500 people. Our calling is to the 40,000 people that live within 30 minutes of us. Our mission is to reach the people of Southwest Iowa with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are currently looking for a worship leader. Depending upon the right candidate, this position can be part-time or full time. The worship leader’s primary role is to lead out and develop a gospel-centered, Spirit-empowered worship culture. The worship leader will lead the church in a deeper understanding of God through music, discipleship, and Scripture. KEY SKILLS: Musical and vocal excellence, Leadership, Communication. JOB REQUIREMENTS: • Must be joyfully committed to the mission of Citylight Church and actively involved in a City Group. • Must meet the biblical qualifications for a deacon as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:8-13. REGULAR PRACTICES: • Pray for musicians and vocalists and the worship culture among Citylight as part of work hours. • Pray for, plan, and lead music for Sunday worship gatherings each week. • Pray for, plan, and lead music for church prayer gatherings each month • Attend monthly all-Citylight staff prayer gatherings • The worship leader will commit to a time of worship and devotions with his family. The expectation is at least once a week. • The worship leader will also commit to 30 minutes a day of personal time in worship, prayer, and the reading of God’s word. • Discipleship of musicians. This will involve group and one on one, coffee, lunch, and dinner meetings. • Identify musicians within the church family to build and grow the worship team • Prepare projection slides, sound system, and any other A/V needs for Sunday worship gatherings • Other duties as assigned
