Purpose: Living Hope is a growing multi-ethnic community of around 200 adults and children, with a majority being of South Asian descent. The primary function of this position is to aid the Senior Pastor in carrying out the established vision and core values of the church, and assist with the growing care and counseling needs of a multi-ethnic church, with a focus on small groups and youth group, as determined by the Senior Pastor and Elders of Living Hope. This position would be reporting to the Senior Pastor. Primary Roles and Functions: Lead Small Group Ministry: work with the Senior Pastor to bring ongoing leadership to small group ministry by discovering, developing, and deploying more small group leaders and groups. He will model small group leadership by leading a geographic group. Participate in Pulpit Team: the Associate Pastor will attend Pulpit Team meetings weekly and preach as directed by the Senior Pastor. Participate in Elders and Staff Meetings: the Associate Pastor sits in all Elder Meetings at the invitation of the Senior Pastor. Oversee Youth Group: set vision and discover, develop, and deploy youth leaders. Corporate Ministries: help oversee all corporate ministries including men’s, women’s, children’s and assimilation. Other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor. Qualifications: Professes Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, while exuding a close walk with God, which gives evidence of a Spirit-filled life and serves as a model for the church. Must have a clear call for full-time ministry. Must have a strong ability to handle God’s Word in exegesis and homiletics. Exhibit evidence of Christian character and servant leadership as stated in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, and 1 Peter 5:1-4 in work environment as well as in home/family settings. Give evidence of a spiritually balanced life (prayer, Bible study, rest, worship, financial stewardship). Doctrinally aligned with Living Hope’s Statement of Faith, vision, and core values. Give evidence of a strong work ethic and personal integrity. Must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university, preferably in Pastoral Ministry, Theology, or equivalent. Master of Divinity or equivalent graduate theological degree from an accredited Christian seminary or school is preferred. Past experience in shepherding a community is preferred. Exceptional ability to understand, shepherd, communicate, build relationships with people that will encourage, motivate, and support both believing and non-believing people towards a deeper relationship with Christ.
