Summary: This full-time position combines a part time office assistant position with a part time Children’s Ministry Director position to provide leadership and vision to our children’s ministry while also providing general office and ministry support throughout the week. Hours: Compensation for this position is based on a forty hour per week workload. Office hours for this position are Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Additional set hours are Sunday from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM and Wednesday evenings from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The additional five hours of compensation will be met throughout the year at special events, in outside office planning, and other ministry support and leader development meetings. Responsibilities: The responsibilities for this position are… • Children’s Ministry Director (20 hours per week) o Oversee weekly Sunday School Program ? Work with Pre-K, K-2, and 3rd-5th grade Sunday School teachers in curriculum selection and admin support. ? Recruit and develop new Sunday School Teachers. ? Develop Nursery program for Sunday School hour ? Teach in Classroom as needed. o Oversee weekly Kidz World Program ? Work with Nursery, Pre-k, k-2, and 3rd-5th leaders and teachers in curriculum selection and implementation in the classroom. ? Provide Admin Support to leaders and volunteers. ? Teach in the Kidz World environment twice per month. (Note: For the first three months of this position Kidz World participation will be weekly in order to evaluate current curriculum, volunteers, and leaders). o Develop Midweek Kidz Club (Long Term Goal) ? Long term (after one year in the position) we will want to develop our kids ministry to offer a mid-week program to complement our Student Ministry and allow for an adult discipleship component. This will be contingent on the ability to offload other ministry support or office responsibilities to make room for this program. It is not expected that the person who fills this position will be able to fulfill the entire job description as written and run a mid-week program as well. • Ministry Support (10 hours per week) o The Ministry Coordinator will assist the Lead Pastor, Associate Pastor of Care, and Student Ministries Director in various small tasks throughout the week. These include… ? Printing and copying ? Correspondence by email or physical mail ? Coordinating travel / housing for staff retreats and events ? Misc. items that “pop up” throughout the week o The Ministry Coordinator will assist the Student Ministries Director by… ? Printing and Copying curriculum and materials ? Purchasing supplies, food items, and game materials ? Attending Midweek Student Ministry to provide support as needed. (NOTE – When we launch a midweek kids program the requirement to attend midweek student ministries will cease). • Office Support (10 hours per week) o Answer phones, take messages, handle communication. o Oversee volunteers who file and do print / production of materials. o Handle walk-ins and refer to Pastoral staff as appropriate. o Receive, sort, distribute, and send mail. o Other misc. Office duties. o NOTE: The office responsibilities are light enough that they should be able to “fit” around the heavier ministry responsibilities of this role. The Lead Pastor will closely monitor the office load for this position and help with recruiting volunteers as necessary to keep it from encroaching on the more urgent ministry responsibilities.
