General Description: The role of the Student Ministry Pastor is to preside over all leadership and personal ministry involvement with the Student Ministry program, grades 6 through 12 as well as oversee the development of the College and Career ministry. He will also participate in the AWANA program to build relationships with the children that will be advancing into middle school. The ministry will be highly motivational and offer opportunities for the personal and spiritual development of the students that their parents enthusiastically endorse. Key Duties and Responsibilities: • Help students grow in their spiritual journey, including developing both a passion for serving and their prayer life. • Develop and organize a healthy outreach program equipping students to personally reach their friends for Christ. • Develop a student missions program by stressing both short-term and long-term Alliance Missions opportunities. • Build relationships with the students and their families that come faithfully to services and meetings. • Develop a discipleship program that encompasses the core topics of Classes 101, 201, 301 and 401. These spiritual discipline topics must be taught annually. • Encourage believer’s baptism and church involvement. • Develop volunteers to serve in the Student Ministry program. • Develop and coordinate a Student Ministry worship team that will minister in the Student Ministry meetings and be incorporated into church services. Qualities We Are Seeking For The Role: • Active and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ, evidenced by action, attitude and behavior • Experience leading a Student Ministry in a medium-to-large church (1-2 years experience preferred) • Collaborative and works well in a team environment • Visionary who is committed to leading the ministry toward growth and constantly improving it in all areas • Ability to communicate the Gospel creatively and clearly to middle and high school youth and exhibits effective teaching skills • Innovative • Proactive • Positive Attitude • Desire and ability to focus on equipping, training, recruiting and leading a large team of volunteers • Ability to plan strategically and delegate responsibilities • Handle all relationships and responsibilities with a teachable, humble and flexible spirit Salary: • This is regarded as a full time position. • Competitive • Based on experience with benefits. Doctrinal Position: • He must agree wholeheartedly with the doctrinal position of the C&MA. • Must seek licensing and ordination with the Christian and Missionary Alliance.
