DIRECTOR / PASTOR OF YOUTH MINISTRIES First Alliance Church of Erie, PA (“FAC”) is seeking a self-motivated, high capacity, committed Christian leader to serve FAC in a full-time position in the areas of Youth and Student Ministries. Job Description: Director / Pastor1 of Youth Ministries Our Mission: To transform Erie by Introducing People to a Transformational Relationship with Jesus. Position Overview FAC is seeking an exemplary Youth Pastor/Director to lead and guide FAC’s middle and high school students (6th through-12th grades). The person must be committed to help students grow in Christ, encourage students in their knowledge of God and scripture, and encourage them in their journey of love for Him and for others. The successful candidate will spend time with students outside of regularly scheduled FAC youth events. Provide students and their families with sound biblical counseling, discipling and shepherding. The candidate will also be committed to providing students with a place to belong which gives them the courage to stand up for Christian faith and resilience to withstand unhealthy peer pressure. Ideal candidates are proficient in understanding adolescent development and the challenges facing youth in a postmodern society while providing Christ centered shepherding. Reports to: Executive Director Director / Pastor of Student Pastor Job Description Essential Roles and Responsibilities: • Dedicated Christ follower and has an understanding of the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit. ? Ability to disciple students and equip them to share their faith in Jesus. ? Lead middle and high school students to encourage their spiritual growth. ? Attend and participate in Senior Leadership Team meetings. • Oversee, grow and coordinate FAC’s youth ministry. • Design, oversee and examine curriculum for all youth programs, events and classes. • Interact with students during weekend services. • Develop positive relationships with students and their parents/caregivers. • Build and maintain excellent communication with parents, leaders and students through various communication avenues. • Display Christ-like lifestyle and approach to others. • Pray regularly for students in the church and community. • Encourage student participation in various church ministries. • Develop and shepherd a Youth Ministries leadership team of volunteer adults & youth. 1 The title “Pastor” requires the candidate to be licensed and/or ordained or qualified to become licensed and/or ordained by the Christian and Missionary Alliance through the Western District of PA Director of Youth Ministries Essential Job Requirements: • Evident personal relationship with Jesus Christ. ? Excellent biblical knowledge. • Degree or relevant experience in student ministries, biblical studies, theology or related areas. • Proficient understanding of challenges and needs of students and parents. • Excellent computer skills, and proficiency with social media. • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. • Excellent organizational skills. • Affinity for students. • Ability to lead by example. • Available to work extended hours, evenings, over weekends and holidays, and on short notice. • Candidates with musical abilities to lead youth in worship. ? Must complete and submit an Applicant Survey which identifies the applicant’s personal and spiritual beliefs which demonstrates alignment with FAC and C&MA’s statements of faith, vision and mission in the sole discretion of FAC. ? Ability to understand, develop and maintain an approved budget. ? Ability to develop and accomplish concrete goals and objectives which align with FAC’s vision. ? Submit monthly reports to the governing board as approved by the Executive Director. ? Other duties as deemed necessary by leadership based on giftedness and passion as discussed with the Lead Pastor and Executive Director. ? Ability to operate a motor vehicle in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. ? Child abuse history, PATCH and FBI fingerprinting clearances will be required prior to commencing employment. Compensation and Benefits: FLSA: Exempt Salaried • Compensation is commensurate with credentials and experience • Full time employees are eligible to participate in FAC’s generous benefit package which includes Group Health, Dental, Vision, 403b Retirement Plan, Flexible Spending Account, Group Life Insurance and Paid Leave.
