Penns Valley is a growing area of about 12,000 people twenty minutes outside of State College and Penn State University. It is a unique mixture of rural farming communities located near a major university town. Title of job position: Executive Director of Implementation Full/part-time: Full time, Monday-Thursday with regular weekend responsibilities. Requirements/qualifications: Preferred Experience and Skills: o Ability to recruit, establish trust with, and lead ministry teams. o Strong team building and people development skills. o Strong people and conflict resolution skills. o Strong oral and written communication skills. o Strong organizational and time management skills. o Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality in handling matters of a sensitive nature. Primary Responsibilities: o Identify, recruit, develop and appreciate PVCC Leaders, Staff and Ministry Workers. o Grow and provide direction for ministry initiatives at PVCC focused on growth and health of new and current community ministries. o Work collaboratively with the Lead Pastor in planning and implementing the Vision and Mission of PVCC. o Oversee the development and implementation of community ministry promotions and events. o Identify trends and proactively monitor offsite participation for the Penns Valley community. o Actively participate in community ministry. o Support ministry leaders/workers with implementation ideas. o Serve as a part of a ministry team supporting and attending on and offsite events. o Responsible for additional projects at the discretion of the Lead Pastor. o Oversee Technology applications, such as website, app, social media, etc. Do Everything You Can To: o Reach people by growing PVCC through community connection and retention. o Grow people towards fully following Jesus through growing leaders. Personal Qualifications: o Has accepted Jesus as their personal Savior and can share their testimony. o Lives out a pattern of spiritual development characterized by prayer, Bible study, stewardship, and regular participation at PVCC. o Supports/agrees fully with PVCC’s purpose, mission, priorities, doctrinal statement, philosophy of ministry, and style of worship. o If married, disciples family first; if single, cultivates deep friendships. o Shows a desire to grow, develop, and mature, both spiritually and professionally. o Displays spirit of cooperation and willingness to serve on a team. o Has a passion to lead and develop Community Ministry. o Either ordination or consecration preferred or be willing to pursue. Evaluation: Work with Lead Pastor and Elders for planning, goal setting, progress updates, and general coaching. A formal Action and Development Plan will be completed and reviewed throughout the year. Reports to: Lead Pastor Partners: Elders, Staff, and Ministry Leaders Church Information Church size: 170 average attendance Church history: Nineteen years ago several families from State College Alliance Church moved to Penns Valley to plant PVCC in order to bring the Gospel to the valley in creative and relevant ways. Through tangible acts of service, many people have been reached and continue to be reached. Ten years ago PVCC started a youth center to minister to students in 6th to 12th grade which has grown steadily over time. Recently the youth center began a K to 5 program to reach the children of our community. In the last few years, the church has shifted from Community Groups to Missional Communities with the goal of reaching those who would not ordinarily walk into a Sunday service. Part of our missional strategy is to not own a building. We first met in an elementary school and now meet in a recreation center and rent office space there in order to be part of the Penns Valley community. Mission of PVCC: To impact Penns Valley by raising up a community of believers who live a life of integrity, pray for the lost and find practical ways to love others. Vision of PVCC: We exist to create a Penns Valley Community through which every person in our generation experiences the gospel in creative and relevant ways. Core Values of PVCC: People Matter 1.
