Todd and Terri Althaus

Prayer Letter/Ministry Update

Dear Praying Friends,
We've begun our home assignment in the U.S. with an interesting combination of rest, and new concerns. We are released from the daily responsibilities of pastoring and churchplanting in Bordeaux, as our intern Luc steps in to be the interim pastor, and church leaders take the Mérignac church forward. We rejoice in how things came together in so many ways before we left France in May-- God did what seemed impossible!
Here in Chicago we are walking alongside our daughter Sarah and her husband Evan as she battles acute leukemia. God has sustained her through 3 rounds of chemo, and she is in the 4th round now, preparing for a stem cell transplant. We hope this happens in September. Her brother Thomas will be the donor.
This week we had another medical curve ball come our way: Todd was hospitalized with severe stomach pain which turned out to be pancreatitis. We're not sure of the cause-- and more tests will be done. It was a milder case and he is feeling better and home now. This may affect his future diet. We're thankful for good medical care here and that this was discovered before he begins traveling for tours in churches.

Christ continues to build His church in France, the U.S., and around the world. May we be His Kingdom people and join Him in His mission.

Praise and Prayer Requests

You can join us in prayer for the following:

1. Pray for Luc, young Frenchman who is pastoring the church in Mérignac: for the filling of the Spirit, for wisdom, patience, love as he cares for the church there.
2. That the city planning commission in Mérignac would approve our purchase of the building for the church. PRAISE GOD for all He has done in providing the means to purchase this restaurant as a future ministry center.
3. For protection from the enemy's attempts to discourage and sideline us through physical issues. We are learning from our Good Shepherd as we go through the valley, trusting Him for healing. Specifically, that Sarah can have the stem cell transplant soon and that this would effectively treat the leukemia. Also that Todd will not have recurrences of the pancreatitis and can know how to change diet, etc. to insure this.
