Prayer Letter/Ministry Update

Dear Friends and Prayer Partners,

Thank you again, for your prayers and support! Even though we are back in "red alert" with more and more cases of the variant Delta, we continue to keep faithfully walking forward. We keep trusting God for His healing touch and protection over the lives of the people in Mexico. Please pray for more opportunities to share the eternal hope we have in Jesus.

Prayer Requests/Answers to Prayer

1. Pray for those who are leading churches here. Pray specifically for Gilberto and Laura, church planters in Mexico City. Pray also for Ana Miriam and Saúl who are sharing the responsibilities of pastoring La Fuente. Pray for Pastors Mario, Jonathan and Arturo, as well. While most churches are meeting face to face, there are strict safety measures for all who attend and we cannot have more than 30% capacity in any given meeting.

2. Keep praying for our pastors and leaders to continue to boldly ask the Lord of the harvest to send out more workers into the harvest. Pray for an increased vision for those people groups inside and outside of Mexico who have not heard the name of Jesus (LRPGs or URPGs). Pray for us as IWs as we refocus our ministries to work toward giving access to those who do not yet have access to Jesus and His Good News. PRAY SPECIFICALLY DURING THESE NEXT TWO MONTHS AS EACH OF US WILL REWORK OUR JOB DESCRIPTIONS TO ALIGN MORE CLOSELY WITH THIS FOCUS.

Pray specifically for our indigenous groups (Otomi, Wixarika, and others) during this crisis. They have not been able to sell their artisan goods on the streets which means they do not have income for food or basic needs. Some have left their childfen in the care of family members with the hopes of finding work in the "north". Pray for our Brave Heart volunteers as they dream and plan for the next school year. They would like to find a more central location for the homework help site as most of the kids help their parents selling on the streets in specific areas of the city. This would require a major miracle, but God is able to do that.

3. Pray for solid opportunities for partnering with like minded groups in providing training for those who desire to serve God in their communities and world. Thank God for a fruitful first contact with WEC. Pray for openness and provision for those who are studying online through FATELA, our Alliance seminary for Latin America. Pray for our national leaders, Brenda, Alma and others, as they seek to take training to some of the more isolated areas of Mexico. Pray for sensitivity to the cultural and spiritual challenges found with working among the ethnic groups. Pray for an "oral translation" of the Bible which is underway with one of the indigenous groups.

4. Praise God and please pray for the rescheduling of the outreach event to share a theater production of Jonah. Due Covid, we had to postpone the original date of August 29 to October. Pray as schedules for the cast are complicated due to other work commitments. Pray for this to take place as many have invited their family members and friends who do not know Jesus yet.

5. Thank the Lord for Bridgeway, the International Bilingual School, which serves our international workers and their families, as well as serves as a means of outreach to families in Mexico City. Please pray for financial provision as they struggle to meet financial obligations. Pray for unity and a sense of shared vision among the staff and teachers. Pray for Kevin, the director of the school. Pray for staff, teachers and students as they are juggling a hybrid format for classes.

6. Please continue to pray for unity and healthy relationships as we serve alongside our national brothers and sisters in ministry. Ask God to teach us how to walk humbly with Him and one another. Pray as we continue to look for ways to partner in reaching the least reached. Pray for God to give us a clear and unified pathway forward in completing the Great Commission. Pray for our the meetings of our national church, October 19 to 22, that this time together will be one of refreshing for pastors and leaders who have faced many challenges during the ongoing pandemic.

7. Praise God for opportunities to serve God as I have contact with Venezuelan friends as well as "new friends" in Nicaragua via Zoom. Please pray for Nicaragua where there is an outbreak of Covid and limited resources for treating those who have complications from the virus. Pray for the nation of Venezuela as daily living conditions continue to be very challenging.

Thank YOU for giving to the Great Commission Fund, for supporting me as I serve in Mexico and for praying!
