A New Alliance Church for Guadalajara
September 19, 2006
The third Alliance church in Guadalajara, Mexico, recently celebrated its inaugural service with forty-five people in attendance. Each had a unique reason for being there, and nearly all said they would be back. Among those who attended were several non-Christians. Others were believers who haven’t been plugged into a congregation.
Strong Tower Alliance is pastored by Kevin Haworth. He and his wife, Shirley, have ministered with The Alliance for seventeen years, and this is their third church plant in Guadalajara. They feel privileged to be partnering with well-grounded nationals who have a passion and vision for reaching their city for Christ.
Already, God has been blessing this new fellowship of the C&MA. A gift of money came in out of the blue, as well as a donation to purchase a keyboard. “We are humbled to see God’s tender care and mercy and the many ways that He is overseeing and providing for this new Body of believers,” said Shirley.
As the church grows, the need for more space will become pressing. “It felt full with fifty-five seats and ten less people than that,” Shirley said. Please pray that God will continue to provide.
