UPDATE: The Church Helps Hurting Bosnians

church members load relief suppliesA week after historic flooding in Bosnia left more than 10,000 people homeless, Alliance international workers are partnering with local evangelical churches in relief efforts. “The immediate needs are water, hygienic supplies, and food,” says one worker.

An Alliance ministry partner organized a convoy of aid from church and community members. “We find it hard to look at these people, who are suffering,” he told an Alliance worker. “Our hearts are sad, but we thank God Almighty that we can serve people in need and that through our ministry, they feel the love of Christ.”

Church members plan to revisit affected areas. “We want to be true ambassadors of Jesus Christ,” the relief organizer says, “to provide for their needs and to bless them.”

CAMA, the relief and development arm of The Alliance, is providing financial assistance from the CAMA Disaster Relief Fund to Alliance workers and their national partners.
