Chad and Nicole Clason

Prayer Letter/Ministry Update

photo

Chad is teaching English to about 4-8 young adults here in Conakry, Guinea. He loves teaching them English, but is seeking for different and creative ways to incorporate the Gospel as well. Pray for him to be salt and light to his students.
Chad also has been discipling one new believer here. He is a young man who is finishing high school at a local Christian school in Conakry.
Please pray for him that he would grow in his faith and that he'd share it with others he knows.
Nicki has also been teaching English to some children in our neighborhood. She loves to teach them English songs like "God is So Good" and other simple songs like it! They love to come and sit on our terrace and spend some time with Nicki and our kids (as they help as well)! Pray that they would learn the Truth as they learn English!
We have a short-term team coming soon to do a VBS at our home. Please pray that many children will come and that their parents would allow them to come (even though it is a Bible School setting). I ask you'd pray for Nicki and others as they translate into French and Susu the truths that the team will be sharing.
THE BIGGEST TASK at hand right now for Chad is attempting to get the finalized paperwork for our youth center land grant! We have been trying to start a youth center in Conakry for about three years now with no success! We always get close, then there is instability or change in government and we have to start over or make changes! Pray that we can get the finalized paperwork soon! With a new president that just came to power about two weeks ago, we were thankful we didn't have to jump through many more "hoops" than we've had to so far! We expect to have the paperwork by the end of January 2011.
Pray also as we finish our term and prepare for home assignment....for good closure to our term....for safety for our family....for good health as there is much to be done...and that God would prepare our family for the changes to come in order to limit some of the culture shock (especially for our children)!
Thank you all for praying!
We are hoping to be able to connect with many of you soon when we are in the USA from May 2011 to June 2012.

Prayer Requests/Answers to Prayer

Pray for our English classes...that we could plant the seeds of God's Word as we teach English. Pray that the students' hearts would be open to the Truth.

Pray for the new believer Chad is meeting with regularly. Pray he would be courageous and share his faith with others.

Pray that we'd be able to get the final paperwork for the youth center soon and be able to start the building process before we go on home assignment.
Pray for us to find favor in the eyes of the government.

Pray for health for us as we have lots to do between now and home assignment in May 2011!

Pray.

The Alliance believes wholeheartedly in the power and necessity of prayer. We cannot “Live the Call Together” unless prayer is central to all we do—in our denomination, in our churches, and in our individual lives.

You can help build Christ’s Church around the world by donating online to the Great Commission Fund. This central funding vehicle allows our international workers to focus on ministry rather than raising financial support.
