Prayer Letter/Ministry Update

Hi, my friends in Christ...

The Lord has been so good to us this past year and I am so looking forward to seeing His hand at work...This past semester at the dorm has been really good. The kids for the most part have stayed healthy and have grown in so many ways...some of them have passed me in height:-) while others have changed by God. We, as a staff, have also known the hand of the Lord in our relationships and honestly I praise the Lord for the unity He has given to us!

During Christmas break, I took some time back in the states to visit with my family and friends. It was good to really spend some good quality time with them...as this ministry often keeps me quite busy. I was able to have my wisdom teeth removed...a couple of weeks before break I had some good sized pain in my mouth and I knew I needed them taken out...and the Lord through many different people was able to get this done in the short time I was there. I also spoke in church in His strength...after surgery...on speaking in love and what that means in a dorm like ours. As it often is, time was too short at home and yet it was also a time for me to reflect on what it is like for my kids as leave and return on breaks. I am certainly thankful that there is family and their love on both ends of my traveling this year!

As the new year begins, there really isn't much to tell...except that we work day by day in the kitchen, do the laundry and continue to love on the kids...There will be intramural sports, Adelboden and 8th grade banquet among other things but I also thank the Lord for the deepening relationships we continue to have with the kids...as my sister often says these kids "make my heart smile"...with the things they say and do:-)
Thank you for praying for us!
In His Love,
Laura

Prayer Requests/Answers to Prayer

1.) Continue to pray for health...as this is the season for colds and flu.
2.) Continue to pray for wisdom and guidance as we help raise these kids along with their parents.
3.) Praise God for the unity He has given among us staff and the relationships we have with the children...
4.) But continue to pray for those relationships that they will continue to deepen and that we will be challenged to follow Christ in a deeper way as well.
5.) Pray for the parents and kids as they have just come off of break...transitioning and homesickness often happen during this time.
6.) Pray for us and driving...Phil and Melissa are working on getting a German license and I still need to drive in the snow...Thankfully, the weather has been good here but I know at some point I will need to do this:-)

Pray.

The Alliance believes wholeheartedly in the power and necessity of prayer. We cannot “Live the Call Together” unless prayer is central to all we do—as a denomination, as churches, and as individuals.

Give.

You can help build Christ’s Church around the world by donating online to the Great Commission Fund. This fund finances our missionaries, allowing them to focus on ministry rather than raising their own support.

Serve.

Is God calling you to full-time service? Do you want to experience missions firsthand by participating in a short-term missions trip? We want to help you connect your passion with God’s purpose.
