Prayer Requests/Answers to Prayer
It was nearly 11pm on the 18th of December as I drove through light drizzle towards home. I had just had the honor of speaking at the Christmas celebration of the community health and pharmaceutical students division of a local university. The evening had been alive with music, drama and creative media mixed together with the Indonesian traditional lighting of candles as the audience joins in singing Silent Night while standing in a darkened room to the decorations designed by college students celebrating the birth of their Savior. The theme was the word of Mary: “I am your servant…may what you say come to pass in my life.” The students of the sponsoring university were joined by students from two other local universities making about 250 students who gathered to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
I’ll never forget the sea of hands that went up as I asked those students, who wanted to say to the Lord, as Mary did, “Yes, I am your servant, do whatever you will with my life. I am yours.” I wish in writing about it I could share the love and excitement and joy that was expressed as we greeted each other afterwards. How do I describe the heart-felt eagerness to stay in contact, build the Kingdom, and change our world? What makes ministry to college students so dynamic? As I sat in my car driving home, rejoicing in God-given privilege, I wondered if life could get any better.
Then, it does.
Three days later one of the med students from the same U asked me to speak at the Christmas celebration for the medical students. That will be held on January 4th. Would you join me in special prayer that our evening together will bring an outpouring of God’s Spirit that will transform all of our lives?
Two days later a young couple came to my home for help. In love, they want soon to marry, but she is a believer and he a member of the majority faith. For three hours we talked about God and faith and Jesus and mankind and sin and salvation. E, the young man, asked many wonderful, inquiring questions. At about 12 o’clock midnight he became a child of God as he prayed to receive Jesus as his Savior. Please pray fervently for E and all he will face. Pray for wisdom in discipling and teaching.
Imagine! All of this...and heaven, too!

Pray.
The Alliance believes wholeheartedly in the power and necessity of prayer. We cannot “Live the Call Together” unless prayer is central to all we do—as a denomination, as churches, and as individuals.
Give.
You can help build Christ’s Church around the world by donating online to the Great Commission Fund. This fund finances our missionaries, allowing them to focus on ministry rather than raising their own support.
