Prayer Letter/Ministry Update
Merry Christmas to you all! Trust that you are busy with Christmas celebrations in churches and with families and friends. Thank you Jesus for coming to earth to save us from God’s wrath.
Life has been busy since I moved to Cidu. I’ve been constantly learning from the couple missionary that I am working with. I praise God for them and it’s been a great blessing serving with them here.
During the first month, I was more in an observant role and partly involving with the children, youth, women ministries, visitation and evangelism.
One time I asked a youth, “What about your parents? Where are they?” The youth did not say a word. He shook his head. A few seconds later, with tears in his eyes, he shook his head again. Then, I knew I shouldn’t have asked that question. Later, I found out his father died of cancer a few years ago, and his mother left the family because of this. Now, it is his grandmother who is taking care of him and his sister. This is only one of the many stories of the children in Cidu. Many have either broken or dysfunctional families. To these children, a lot of them do not see a future. Consequently, they do not like going to school. Some end up in drugs and alcohol. Yet, in Cidu Gospel Center, we have a small group of children and youth who have been coming for the children Sunday school, youth group, or Sunday service in the past few years. They have been exposed to the Gospel many times and some of them expressed that they love Jesus very much and are praying everyday for their parents to come to accept Jesus Christ. Pray for patience with these children and youth and wisdom on how to teach them to live a Christ-like life. Also to pray for more children and youth to come to Christ.
Other than children and youth ministries, I am also involved with the women ministry in the community. In the morning of every Wednesday, we have a women’s group. And we have a beading class every Tuesday afternoon. Around 7 to 8 women come regularly for the beading class. Through these two meetings, we built up closer relationships with them. Last Thursday, we had a Christmas celebration with other women in the community. It was a blessing. Everyone had a good time. We sang Christmas songs, played game, and listened to the “Prodigal Son” story. Some of these women have come to church in occasions. Some are first time. Please continue to pray for their hearts to be softened and for us to have wisdom on how to bring them to Christ.
Please pray for people in general that their hearts to be softened. God is good and gracious. He is always reminding me to look upon Him no matter what I see or experience. He is our Abba.

Pray.
The Alliance believes wholeheartedly in the power and necessity of prayer. We cannot “Live the Call Together” unless prayer is central to all we do—as a denomination, as churches, and as individuals.
Give.
You can help build Christ’s Church around the world by donating online to the Great Commission Fund. This fund finances our missionaries, allowing them to focus on ministry rather than raising their own support.
