Prayer Letter/Ministry Update

We were privileged to meet so many wonderful people during our six month home assignment. Our tour travels took us to Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington, Oregon, Alaska and Georgia where we were given the opportunity to share what God has done in Colombia and in the beautiful city of Cali. So many of you reminded us that you have prayed for us faithfully – what a blessing to have you partner with us in establishing Christ’s Kingdom in Colombia. We couldn’t do it without your prayers. Thank you for love and encouragement expressed to us in so many ways.
Many of you have asked about our granddaughter, Hannah “Ardis” Ord. Thank you so much for your interest and prayers. She has defied medical opinion that she would never be able to swallow. Now two and a half years old, she is healthy and growing in spite of her condition. Her seizures continue every few minutes but by God’s amazing grace she has been given strength and stamina to endure them. According to doctors there is no hope for Ardis to recover, but we have a God of hope who is bigger than medicine and who still does miracles today. Continue to pray that God touch her, and that all the glory would go to Him.
Our son David is seeking a position at a Christian college as a professor. We are trusting God to open the right doors for him and his family. It has been a difficult time, but God has proven faithful to them, providing for their needs through His people.
Lisa and Dan are enjoying their work with youth. We have spent very little time with them during home assignment so we plan to travel to Maryland to be with them a few days and fly out from there.
This will likely be our last term of ministry in Colombia and we want to finish well. God is raising up a people for himself among the upper classes of Cali. They were able to rent a church building and move from the cramped quarters in the house where they had been meeting – and even lower the rent! Praise the Lord for all He has done. Presently there are about 100-120 people meeting on Sundays. The greatest need is to “unleash the laity” for leadership in the church. Our ministry will revolve around discipleship training and reaching out to our neighbors who do not know Christ.
“GOD OF THE CITY”
by Chris Tomlin

You're the God of this city
You're the King of these people
You're the Lord of this nation, You Are
You're the light in this darkness
You're the hope to the hopeless
You're the peace to the restless, You are

For there is no one like our God
There is no one like You God. . .

You're the Lord of Creation
The Creator of all things
You're the King above all kings, You Are

You're the strength in our weakness
You're the love to the broken
You're the joy in the sadness, You Are

For greater things have yet to come
Greater things are still to be done in this city
When glory shines from hearts alive
With praise for You and love for You in this city

Greater things have yet to come
Greater things are still to be done in this city
Greater things have yet to come
And greater things are still to be done here

Pray.

The Alliance believes wholeheartedly in the power and necessity of prayer. We cannot “Live the Call Together” unless prayer is central to all we do—as a denomination, as churches, and as individuals.

Give.

You can help build Christ’s Church around the world by donating online to the Great Commission Fund. This fund finances our missionaries, allowing them to focus on ministry rather than raising their own support.

Serve.

Is God calling you to full-time service? Do you want to experience missions firsthand by participating in a short-term missions trip? We want to help you connect your passion with God’s purpose.
