Prayer Letter/Ministry Update
Ostlie Update December 2011
Dear Friends and Family:
“The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means, “God with us”. Mathew 1:23. What a wonderful promise!
In the middle of change, doubt and fear, we know that God does not leave us alone. We saw that evidenced in every detail during our packing up in Chile, the farewells, and arrival in Fargo.
Presently, we are living in Felipe and Joy’s apartment in Fargo, awaiting our house to become available on December 20th.
Naomi Joy was born on November 9th at Sanford hospital in Fargo. 7 lbs. 10 oz. 20”. What a little blessing she has been for all of us, especially Felipe and Joy who waited eight years! Since we were not around for the birth of our other grandchildren, this has been a special time for us as grandparents.
Felipe and Joy only a week later moved to Red Lake Falls, Minnesota. Meanwhile Felipe is working in Thief River Falls, Minnesota.
Upcoming Schedule:
-Get ready for tour in January
-Move into our house December 20
-Celebrate Christmas with the Nava's and Amy and Julae
-Amy and Julae look for new employment in nursing
-Betty and Chuck on tours starting January in Maine and March in Kentucky
-Amy and the Broughers visiting our son and wife in the Middle East.
As in other newsletters, we have written about our transitions, including our move after 31 years in Chile back to the US, our son and his wife beginning their new life in the Middle East, Amy and Julae seeking employment as nurses, and Felipe and Joy as new parents. We now add to this our last year of tours before retiring in January of 2013. As we reflect back over the years, we have seen God’s overwhelming faithfulness and mercy manifested in numerous ways.
We would appreciate prayer for preparation for our tours. The conference theme is “Be Light in the Middle of Darkness”. We desire God’s anointing over our presentations of the field of Chile, our own experiences, and our son’s calling to the middle east. We need to continue to pray for and uphold those working in Chile and the worldwide work of the Alliance.
Pray for Pastor German as he takes on added responsibilities. Pray also for the lay leaders as they help lead the congregation of Renaca.
Please continue to pray for the last two remaining alliance workers in Santiago.
Thank you for your faithfulness in prayer and financial support of The Christian and Missionary Alliance working in over 70 countries around world.
May you and your family have a Christmas filled with God’s presence as you reflect on His mercy and love.
In His love and grace,
Chuck and Betty

Get Involved...
Pray.
The Alliance believes wholeheartedly in the power and necessity of prayer. We cannot “Live the Call Together” unless prayer is central to all we do—in our denomination, in our churches, and in our individual lives.
Give.
You can help build Christ’s Church around the world by donating online to the Great Commission Fund. This central funding vehicle allows our international workers to focus on ministry rather than raising financial support.
Serve.
Is God calling you to full-time service? Do you want to participate in a short-term missions trip and experience missions work firsthand? We’re here to help you connect your passion with God’s purpose.
