Prayer Letter/Ministry Update
November 2011
What a lovely and blessed time I have had these weeks visiting twelve Alliance Churches here in Puerto Rico. I have gone from the coast with its beautiful beaches to the plains bustling with people and cars to the mountains with cool air and beautiful natural vistas. I have eaten typical food which I can’t get in Uruguay, visited tourist sites and been driven several hundred miles. I have enjoyed meeting new people and churches, getting reacquainted with old friends, and sharing what God is doing through Alliance missions in Uruguay and throughout the world. Missionary tour has been good. God is faithful and true.
One church stands out in my mind. It is a young church with its share of struggles and difficulties being planted in a hard place. It has no building; instead they meet on Sundays under a small tent. What was my surprise when I arrived on a Sunday afternoon for mission’s conference to find the “church tent” filled with posters, flags, and hand crafted lighthouses. They even had most of the small congregation participate in a missionary parade with costumes. I was delighted and blessed by their enthusiasm to be part of God’s mission movement.
In another church the children had participated throughout the year collecting pennies for missions and presented a basketful of pennies at the conference. Praise God for the support His church continues to give towards missions.
The Apostle Paul reminds us, the church, in Ephesians 5: 8-14 that we are children of light, that we should produce fruit of the light and that we should conduct ourselves as light. We are light in the Lord and we are to walk and live in light. That is the challenge God has had me share with the churches. There is a Spanish chorus that says: “Turn on the light and let it shine. The light of Jesus let it shine everywhere. You cannot hide it, you cannot opaque it. In the face of such need turn on the light in the darkness.” Let us walk in the light and light this world for Jesus Christ!
Thank you for your faithfulness in praying for and supporting missions.
May God richly bless and keep you.
Rebecca
As you remember Uruguay please pray for the following:
1. Grace and endurance for both the students and missionary professors of CETAU. They are currently into the third and final trimester of study for the year. It has been a tough year for them.
2. Praise God for a good missions conference tour.
3. Praise God for Mom's good health.
4. Praise God that the pain in my foot has subsided considerably. Please pray as I face gum surgery on Nov. 21st. Thank You.
5. I praise God for his provision for my needs and the needs of ministry.

Prayer Requests/Answers to Prayer
NOVIEMBRE 2011
QUE TIEMPO PRECIOSO HE PASADO EN ESTAS SEMANAS VISITANDO DOCE IGLESIAS ALIANZA AQUI EN PUERTO RICO. QUE BENDICION. HE PASEADO POR LAS COSTAS CON SUS PLAYAS, LOS LLANOS CON SU GENTE Y BULLICIO Y LA CORDILLERA CENTRAL CON SU BELLEZA NATURAL. HE COMIDO LO TIPICO, COSAS QUE NO HAY EN URUGUAY. ME HAN LLEVADO DE PASEO A MUCHOS PUNTOS DE INTERES. HA SIDO UNA BENDICION Y DELEITE CONOCER A NUEVA GENTE E IGLESIAS, REANUDAR AMISTADES Y COMPARTIR LO QUE DIOS ESTA HACIENDO A TRAVES DE LA MISION ALIANZA EN URUGUAY Y EL RESTO DEL MUNDO. HA SIDO UNA GIRA MISIONERA BUENA. DIOS ES FIEL.
UNA IGLESIA ME LLAMO LA ATENCION. ES UNA IGLESIA JOVEN, UNA PLANTACION DE IGLESIA, CON SUS LUCHAS Y DIFICULTADES SEMBRANDO LA SEMILLA DEL EVANGELIO EN UN LUGAR DURO. NO TIENE EDIFICIO. MAS BIEN SE REUNEN LOS DOMINGOS BAJO UNA CARPA EN UN TERRENO PRESTADO. CUAL FUE MI SORPRESA CUANDO LLEGUE UN DOMINGO EN LA TARDE PARA ENCONTRAR A LA CARPA DECORADA CON AFICHES, BANDERAS Y DOS FAROS. EL TEMA DE LA CONFERENCIA MISIONERA ES: SEAN LUZ. HICIERON UN PARADA DE LAS NACIONES DONDE CASI TODA LA CONGREGACION PARTICIPO. RECIBI UNA GRAN BENDICION AL VER EL ENTUSIASMO DE LA IGLESIA DE SER PARTE DEL MOVIMIENTO MISIONERO DE DIOS.
EN OTRA IGLESIA LOS JOVENCITOS DE LA ESCUELA DOMINICAL COLECTARON MONEDAS A TRAVES DE 2011 PARA LAS MISIONES. PRESENTARON ESAS MONEDAS EL DOMINGO EN UNA CANASTA. QUE BUENO QUE LA IGLESIA DE JESUCRISTO APOYA A LA MISIONES CON SUS OFRENDAS.
EL APOSTOL PABLO NOS RECUERDA QUE SOMOS HIJOS DE LUZ, QUE DEBEMOS TENER FRUTOS DE LUZ Y QUE DEBEMOS CONDUCIRNOS COMO HIJOS DE LUZ EN EFESIOS 5:8-14. SOMOS LUZ EN CRISTO Y HEMOS DE ANDAR Y VIVIR COMO LUZ. COMO TEMA DE LA CONFERENCIA MISIONERA: “SEAN LUZ” ESE FUE EL MENSAJE QUE DIOS ME DIO PARA COMPARTIR CON LAS IGLESIAS. EL CORO “ENCIENDE UNA LUZ” LO DICE TODO. “ENCIENDE UNA LUZ, DEJALA BRILLA. LA LUZ DE JESUS QUE BRILLE EN TODO LUGAR. NO LA PUEDES ESCONDER, NO LA PUEDES CALLAR. ANTE TAL NECESIDAD ENCIENDE UNA LUZ EN LA OSCURIDAD”. CAMINEMOS EN LA LUZ Y ALUMBREMOS ESTE MUNDO PARA CRISTO JESUS.
GRACIAS POR TU FIDELIDAD EN ORAR Y APORTAR A LAS MISIONES. DIOS TE BENDIGA, REBECCA

The Alliance believes wholeheartedly in the power and necessity of prayer. We cannot “Live the Call Together” unless prayer is central to all we do—in our denomination, in our churches, and in our individual lives.
