PUPPY PRAYERS

photo

Remember two months ago we shared how our kids were learning about prayer--and we hoped a puppy and pony wouldn’t show up on our porch? Well... it all started one day during school, we were reading about George Mueller, a man of faith who saw God miraculously answer his prayers. I challenged the girls that God hears their prayers and will answer them as well--so to have faith and ask Him for whatever is on their hearts. So Hannah proceeded to pray, “Lord, I would really love a puppy, so please let us get one.” Then Kalie follows--trying to one up her older sister--by praying, “and God I would really like a pony.” Needless to say, I was not expecting their prayers to be of this nature--so I told them God doesn’t always answer in ways we want, so we’ll just have to wait and trust Him to answer how He thinks is best. When I shared their prayer requests with Jim he again told them how it’s just too hard for us to have a pet right now, because we travel so much, who would take care of it? Well, by this time they had joined forces as Kalie changed her mind and was now also requesting a puppy not a pony. Then one day, their Aunt Joy told them, “maybe you should try praying that God would change your daddy’s heart.” Within one week of them praying this way, Jim began researching what kind of dogs would be good for people with allergies as both he and Kalie are allergic--and by the end of that week we brought home our new puppy--a Shih-Poo, Shitzu Poodle mix that the kids have named Butterball. So our kids have a walking, living example of how God has answered their prayers! Don’t forget the power of 1 John 5:14-15!

PRAYER REQUESTS

Please pray...

for the Chases as they are on home assignment for the next 3 months. Pray that they will not only have great times of renewal themselves, but also have opportunities to share with many of the wonderful things God is doing here among the Isaan people.

for Stacy Maikkula as she transitions to life back in the USA. Pray that God will guide every step she takes, and that she will use her passion for the lost wherever she goes.

for our family as we have begun a new year of home schooling. Hannah is now in 1st grade, and Kalie in Kindergarten. Pray that we will continue to enjoy the journey of learning together.

for Jim as he leads our family, and TEAm Isaan--that he will have a spirit of wisdom and discernment and always seek God's will in each new decision.

Pray.

The Alliance believes wholeheartedly in the power and necessity of prayer. We cannot “Live the Call Together” unless prayer is central to all we do—as a denomination, as churches, and as individuals.

Give.

You can help build Christ’s Church around the world by donating online to the Great Commission Fund. This fund finances our missionaries, allowing them to focus on ministry rather than raising their own support.

Serve.

Is God calling you to full-time service? Do you want to experience missions firsthand by participating in a short-term missions trip? We want to help you connect your passion with God’s purpose.
